You call on me-
Then in an instance you turn me away-
So confusing to me-
I simply don't see-
Do you want me to go?-
Or need me to stay-
I simply don't know-
Should I run along-
Though such a powerful song-
Rings violently in my ear-
Saying simply this-
You need not draw near-
The closness they can see-
Togetherness cannot be-
Such an instance must be simply a memory-
And not exist simply today-
Sorrowful me, though I must agree-
Simply you must turn away-
At every chance-
With every glance-
No matter what the heart may portray-
Though you miss him-
And the distance is not causing the heart to stray-
Though his smile and his touch will not soon fade-
Simply it has to be-
Though simply is never done simply-
Somehow, you must glance away-
And though his eyes make other eyes seem dim-
And though you find comfort in the thought of him-
Though his kiss has not yet left your mind-
Though his voice is one of a kind-
You must find a soft spot, and not fall for him-
Though painful, you must learn to swim-
Learn to act as though the feelings are false-
And avoid his touch at all costs-
So forget the warmth of his strong embrace-
And forget the pictures of his face-
Forget that first kiss-
And try to think of someone else to miss-
Pretend that he's not thinking of you-
And say it's just one instead of two-
Stop reminising on the first day you met-
It's never simple, but it helps you forget.
